I left Freehold in 1964 and moved to the Princeton Area where the salaries were higher. I bought my first house in 1968. Finding advanccement not to my liking I joined the US Air Force. I married and had my daughter 1 year and 1 month later. After finishing my tour of duty I divorced my first husband and enrolled in college. I graduated in 1977. My parents had retired in Florida. In 1978 my father was diagnosed with ALS and my mother needed assistance. I moved from Miami to Gainesville and went to work for the University of Florida. I remarried in 1981 and we are still married. About 10 years ago we bought a new split plan house. After that I housed and sponsored 7 students from third world countries. That stopped in 2005 when my mother lost her eyesight. My husband modified the entrances to the west end of the house so she could have privacy. She has had both hips broken and replaced. I raised my own daughter who is happily married with 2 adopted children. She is unable to carry a child to term. Jackson is 6 and Jade is 4. The photo above reflects my step sons daughter's 6th birthday last april. My husband has the red hat and I am to his right.
During my last few years I have traveled to central america to see my students and their families. I truly learned what poverty meant. I am so spoiled.
My husband is semi-retired keeping up with his antique care restoration for Dr. Robert Cade's museum which will be established here in Gainesville. I am fully retired. What with mother here I have my hands full.
I am in hopes of going to the 50th reunion but am not sure at this point due to a recurring problem with her knee. We will see. I would love to.
